What is your favorite travel adventure story?
I was asleep in the jungle without a tent for one night. I was with two friends near the coast in Costa Rica.
In Ecuador I was in the middle of an earthquake. It was very terrifying.
How did you hear about Room2Board?
From my friend Nica who was working at R2B.
What is a typical day of work like?
I wake up and start to work because I always have the morning shifts. I usually have my breakfast while I’m working. When I finish my shift I go to surf for two hours and it’s an amazing adventure. I’m still learning how to surf.
What is the best part of volunteering at R2B?
Sharing the staff dorm room with my friends. I feel good in the room and I laugh all day and am learning how to speak English.
And be truthful, what’s the worst part?
Working, haha.
How has your time in Costa Rica changed you?
I feel the Pura Vida lifestyle in person. And I am living a relaxing life.
Funniest memory of Room2Board?
The night of Caleb’s goodbye party was the best night. It was very good, there was a lot of dancing and laughing.
What is your favorite meal at Chili Guaros (Room2Board restaurant)?
Argentinean Empanadas and the Chicken Fingers.
What would you recommend to guests to do in Jaco?
Surf!
If you could sum up Costa Rica, Jaco, and Room2Board in one sentence what would you say?
Amazing.
